How to get 90%+ in CBSE 12th Board in a Year-Board Exam Preparation Strategy

During my 12th, I didn’t prepare for CBSE Boards for the whole year. I did it in just 15 days and got 94, 94, 95, 94 board marks in Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English respectively.

But does it mean, you can just wait for the whole year and start preparing for your board exams just before 15 days ? – No

You can only prepare for CBSE Boards in 15 days only if you have good knowledge of the chapters beforehand. Although I think one year is more than enough to prepare for CBSE Board Exams, but if you do it, you have a better chance to score higher marks.

So, Let me ask you a Question : Are you doing coaching for JEE/PMT?

  • If Yes – Then, focus on your coaching studies. And if you are performing good in your coaching, you will easily be able get 90% by studying in last 15 days. Go through my blog How I got 90%+ in 15 days in CBSE 12th Board, where I have described how you can get good marks by preparing in last few days.
  • If No – Then, You have good amount of time to prepare for Boards if you start now. I will be describing in this blog how you should prepare.

Let us go subject wise.

English –

Firstly, get the NCERT text book of English i.e. Flamingo, Vistas and one of the Extended reading texts. And you should get Golden Guide for English as well. Take one chapter at a time, read it nicely, take the help of the Hindi translated text, if you want, for each para and if then also you do not understand, read the summary for that chapter from Golden guide once and then start over that chapter again. You should always make sure that you understand the chapter nicely as there are few chapters which has a deeper meaning than it looks from top and questions related to it comes in exams. After every chapter, go through the questions and answers present in Golden Guide as it will give you an idea of how to write the answers and what teachers are expecting from you. For the Language part. It contains –

  • Short Answer Questions :- Advertisement or notice, drafting poster, writing formal or informal invitation or replies.
  • Long Answer Questions:- Letters based on verbal or visual input. Letters may include Business or Official Letters, Letter to editor, Application for Job etc.
  • Long Answer Questions :- Article, debate, speech or report.

SectionTypeMarks

BWriting30

Now, as you have ample time, you should go through each one of them and look through their examples. You will get to see that each type eg: report, has a specific type of template to write and there are only small changes you need to make for different reports. So, you should jot down those templates and then choose which one to write in the exams. Let’s say you have chosen report, then practice some questions on report. But note this, after the initial rigorous practice, you should keep a time separate every weekend when you should practice at least one report. You will also get passages in exams. They will be long and you should practice reading fast and simultaneously understanding passages. You may be asked to write summary for the passage, so do practice it every weekend as it has a specific format and if you do not follow it, you will not get any marks.

Physics –

For Physics, it is important to learn and understand by writing. Firstly, you should go through the chapters thoroughly and then the Question and answers at the end of the chapter. Do write each and every answer in a copy in a very described and step wise manner, so that, in the last few months, you can just look through that copy for answers. For each chapter, do practice the diagrams nicely, never forget the labels and the heading of the diagram. And you should always write a brief description of what is being shown in the diagram. You should note down every derivation or proof and procedures, and practice it over and over, as they will fetch you maximum marks. After every chapter, go through past few years question papers and see if there is some other questions available which were not present in the Q/A part, if so, then mark those questions and practice them as they are frequently asked. But note there will always be few questions of 1-2 marks which you will not find easily in question-answers part. For this you have to go through each and every line of the chapter nicely, do not take any part lightly. Moreover, the way you present your answers matters a lot. I and one of my friend wrote almost the same answer to a question, but as that question required steps, he wrote in paragraph format, but I wrote it in steps and I got better marks. So, the more you can present your answer better, the more you have a chance to get better marks. Whenever there is a proof or procedure, do write the reason of every step you do. Physics is easy, you just need to focus on the important things and there may be many people who will recommend you Exam Idea book for it, but believe me, if you devote same amount of time you put in completing Exam Idea in NCERT and past years question papers, you will get much better marks.

Chemistry –

SectionQuestion No.Marks/Question
A1 - 51
B6 - 102
C11 - 223
D234
E24 - 265

For Chemistry, NCERT is like “Bible”. 90-95% of the questions in the Board exams will come from the Q/A part of NCERT book. You need to read each line carefully and every sub part of the chapter is very important. Do not skip anything. In Organic Chemistry, go through the structures, reactions carefully and the reasoning behind each step in the reactions. You should practice the structures and reactions by drawing it repeatedly. You should revise the portions of Organic which you have already done every week as it is tough to remember all the reactions. You can solve Physical Chemistry problem by understanding and practicing the concepts, but this doesn’t hold same for Organic and Inorganic Chemistry, you have to make sure that you have learnt all the things before the exams, don’t think that you can understand and solve it at that time. There are students who do answer Inorganic and Organic by understanding concepts, but its true only for few students.

Maths –

In Maths, you have 4 sections – A, B, C, D.

SectionQuestion No.Marks/Question
A1 - 41
B5 - 122
C13 - 234
D24 - 296

Section A – Contains questions which are very easy and you can directly solve it by looking.

Section B – Contains questions which are easy and based on standard formulas, but you need to write it and solve, its tough to solve it in mind. But if you keep your mind calm and have practiced well, you will easily solve it. Mostly the problems will be of “Solve” or “Evaluate” type.

Section C –  Contains questions which are of medium level. Mostly of “Proof” or good “Evaluation” problem. This will actually test your Math skills. You need to first understand the problem nicely, and make the framework of the solution in mind before you actually solve it.

Section D – Contains questions which have 2 or more sub parts. And the 2nd part is related to 1st part. So, if you can solve the 1st part, it gives you a hint to solve the 2nd part.

For every mark you should at least write 1/4th of the page. It is correct that in Maths the length of Answer doesn’t matter, but believe me, it does have a psychological effect and teachers tend to give more marks. So, for 1, 2, 4, 6 mark questions, You need to write 1/4th, 1/2th, 1 and 1.5 pages respectively.

Now, how to prepare Maths. As you know Maths is all about practice. You need to go through the chapters in the same order as given in the book, as most of the chapters are interconnected and you need to have the knowledge of the previous chapters to solve the next one. The most important thing is that you should take some time every 10 days to solve few randomly picked problems of the already completed chapters, so that you remember every concept nicely. Do practice the example questions nicely as it will cover most of the different type of questions. Focus on writing answers stepwise and do write reasons stating the reason why or how you come to some step from previous step.

Make sure that you complete your syllabus at least 3 months before Board Exams, so that you can practice lots of previous years and sample question papers and revise.

So, these are the basic strategies, you should follow in order to excel in CBSE Board 12th.

Top 6 IIT Coaching Institutes in Indore for Your JEE Preparation

Top 6 IIT Coaching Institutes in Indore

Few years back, students from Indore and nearby placed used to go to Kota, Rajasthan for their JEE Preparation, due to the lack of good IIT Coaching Institutes in Indore. Only a few IIT Coaching Institutes were present in Indore, which were neither producing any results nor had good faculties or facilities. But the presence of large mass of very good students preparing for JEE in Indore has attracted some good coaching institutes for IIT JEE along with good faculties. In the last few years, many good IIT coaching institutes started their classes here and you can see that many students have backed top results. Now the students in Indore are competing head to head with students from other parts of India that are famous for IIT Coaching, like Kota and Hyderabad. And students here are facing the same problem as those faced by students from Kota, Hyderabad, Delhi etc, which is – All the IIT coaching institutes claim to be the best, but which coaching institute is actually the best and which one should you opt for?

So, in this blog, I will be touching each and every aspect of the Top 6 IIT Coaching Institutes in Indore.

Rank 1 : CatalyseR Indore –

CatalyseR Indore has produced best results among all the IIT JEE coaching institutes in Indore. It has secured 3 under 10 ranks in last 3 years : AIR-3 in 2014 and 2015 and AIR-6 in 2016. The best minds of Indore come here, so the competitive atmosphere is great. The directors are well qualified, so it is best if you are taught by them. You get good amount of personal attention. Overall it has good environment and teachers are friendly and they keep you motivated. The only problem with this institute is, over the years it has grown and the best faculties have started to migrate to other institutes or other centers of CatalyseR. But currently it is the best option to opt for.

Rank 2 : Kalpvriksha Indore –

They have decent results. The faculties present here are good but their main focus is on extreme hard work, which is actually the best part. There are small batches of 30-50 people, they have to stay from morning 8am to night 8pm in the coaching itself and study, there will be volunteers to help you clear your doubts. Very small breaks during the study hours and not much of talking with friends. So, there is high level of personal attention you get there. Their results are growing year by year and most importantly they are not much into marketing and they do not show fake and misleading results. Only students who are willing to do hard work and are passionate enough must opt for it. Here you need to be determined and dedicated, and you will most likely succeed.

Rank 3 : FIITJEE Indore –

They have produced good results in recent past but the important thing is, it’s not from their Year Long Classroom Program, it’s mostly from their Intensive Contact Program(ICP) and Distance Learning Program(DLP). Most of good students join ICP after they have completed their course in their respective institutes, to give an edge to their preparation. They have comparatively less students but the faculties are decent.

As you can see, Kartik Patekar of CatalyseR has done ICP from Fiitjee Indore.

Rank 4 : InJEEnious ACADEMY Indore –

Former Head of the Departments of Stratford Academy, which was one of the best institute in Indore once upon a time for JEE preparation, founded InJEEnious Academy. It has a good selection ratio. 75 students qualified for JEE Main and 25 students out of that cracked JEE Advanced. The number of students per batch is less and the fees is also less but they give high personal attention. As the same faculty teach in all the batches, there isn’t any discrimination between students and the faculty is good. But there’s a drawback: if you do not like the faculties, then you will have no other choice than to leave the institute. So, if you are financially weak then this is a good choice.

Rank 5 : Allen Indore –

Allen Indore is yet to produce results. They mostly go around buying the best faculties of all the institutes in Indore and has completely bought Rankers Point which was once considered a very good coaching institute for IIT JEE in Indore. So, the faculty strength and level are good here, but you surely know that only faculty cannot make you crack JEE. After their inception, Allen Indore has increased its batch sizes from 50 to 100+. So, the current batch size is huge. If you are in the best batch, then it is worth to join Allen, but if you are in any of the lower batches, you are just wasting money. Allen has good infrastructure and facilities. The fees is high and there is lack of personal attention and below average results. They publicize their all India results and ask students to join the Indore center. The students, thinking that they will get the same standards join and then afterwards regret.

Rank 6 : Vijay Academy Indore –

After having performed very good in Mhow, Vijay Academy has recently started it’s IIT Coaching Centre in Indore. To be really frank, currently they are not able to compete with the above stated coaching institutes. In spite of performing decently in JEE main, the JEE Advanced results of their Indore center are not up to the mark. Only 23 students cracked JEE Advanced in 2016. I would suggest, that as it has not proven its mettle yet, you should not opt for it.

So, I believe it’s clear that if you wish to crack JEE then you should go for Classroom courses in CatalyseR or Kalpvriksha and after your course completion, you should opt for IDC in FIITJEE. Before joining Kalpvriksha, you should always ask yourself whether you can work so hard. If you aim to not only crack JEE but also wish to get great ranks, then certainly go for CatalyseR, as it has best brains of Indore and you get a good competitive atmosphere, which is one of the most important things to get good rank.

We do not disagree that hard work is the most important aspect of cracking JEE, but smart work and the way you study matters a lot, because  there are many students in India who work hard, so hard work alone will not do. The coaching institutes come into play because they know how you should study and how your knowledge can be more productive. They prevent you from getting deviated.

If you are OK with going anywhere in India for IIT preparation then see my blog on Best IIT Coaching In India.

It’s important that you just don’t blindly believe in whatever the coaching institutes are claiming, because now it has become a very big industry. Many show fake and misleading results. You need to do good research before you choose any of them. This is where Ransphire comes in, we show genuine reviews of coaching institutes given by students who have studied in them.

We have tried our level best to get the rankings right. Please share your opinion in the comments. If you liked this blog, please share it with your friends and share it on Facebook. Top 4 IIT JEE Coaching Institutes in Lucknow for Your JEE Preparation

Top 4 IIT JEE Coaching Institutions in Lucknow

Students from various IIT JEE Coaching Institutes of Lucknow have performed very good in past years in JEE Main and Advanced. Few of them have got good ranks in Top 100 in the IIT exam (formerly IIT JEE, now JEE Main and Advanced) as well. Every year thousands of students from all over India and especially from Uttar Pradesh come to Lucknow for JEE preparation, with the dream to crack JEE. Though coaching centers for IIT JEE in Lucknow do not have as high reputation as those in Kota, Hyderabad or Delhi, but in recent years, many good coaching institution have come up in Lucknow and have shown fantastic results. Many of the coaching franchises like FIITJEE Lucknow, Resonance Lucknow etc. are present here. If someone can go far from their hometown for JEE preparation, then I would certainly recommend him to go to Kota or Hyderabad, but if that student is a resident of Lucknow and wishes to prepare while staying at home, then Lucknow has few of the best coaching institutions for IIT JEE for them. Every coaching claims to be the best, so I have mentioned the rankings of the Top 4 IIT JEE Coaching Classes in Lucknow with detailed points:

Rank 1 : Fiitjee Lucknow –

Fiitjee has been constantly producing the best results in Lucknow for many years. 50+ students got ranks below 10000 in JEE Advanced, which is far more than any of their competitors. It has produced city topper many times in JEE advanced and also state topper. See what the toppers have to say. They have the best faculties in Lucknow. There are many branches of FIITJEE in Lucknow of which Gomti Nagar Center is the best and renowned. The FIITJEE study material has high standards and the FIITJEE Test Series, the All India Test Series(AITS) is very good. The infrastructure is good as well and you get well spaced classrooms. The administration is well maintained. The best students preparing for IIT JEE from Lucknow join FIITJEE, so you can get a good and competitive environment where you can learn, discuss and grow. The only problem of FIITJEE Lucknow is the level of studies. Sometimes they teach some topics in great details which are not required for JEE, but only for Olympiads. The fees is a bit higher but you can get good scholarship by getting good rank in their admission test, FTRE. So if you wish to join the best institute in Lucknow, Fiitjee is the one. See genuine reviews of Fiitjee Lucknow here.

Rank 2 : Resonance Lucknow –

Resonance has grown very quickly in Lucknow. Though it was established after FIITJEE in Lucknow, Resonance has gained significant popularity. 350+ students qualified for JEE advanced and they secured the best rank of 269 in JEE advanced 2016. See what the toppers have to say. You should note that as FIITJEE is more popular, the best students go to FIITJEE and Resonance gets more average students, but even after that they are able to produce good results. Their infrastructure is also great. They have few faculties like PRS Sir for Physics, SKM Sir for Physical Chemistry etc who know exactly how to guide students to secure good ranks in JEE and other engineering entrances. Though the average faculty quality is a bit lower than FIITJEE but it’s improving. The level of teaching is exactly of JEE Main and Advanced, so this gives them a head over FIITJEE. The study material and tests are of same level. It can be considered to be the best for JEE main as it does not teach useless topics like FIITJEE. See genuine reviews of Resonance Lucknow here.

Rank 3 : TriVaAg Lucknow –

TriVaAg is totally different than Fiitjee or Resonance. Here there is only one faculty for each subject i.e. Trivedi Sir for Maths, Verma Sir for Physics, Agarwal Sir for Chemistry and they have tied up with Joshi Classes, so there is K.C.Joshi for Maths. So, you will get to read from the same faculties over the year. In Fiitjee or Resonance though there are many faculties for each subject and thus your faculties will depend on the batch you study in. This can be good or bad. If you get good faculty then you will not like if he gets changed. So, in TriVaAg if you like those faculties, then its great, but if you do not then you have no other choice than to leave the institute. 110+ students qualified for JEE advanced and 10+ students got ranks below 10000. They are not a franchise institute like Fiitjee and Resonance, but a local institute trying to compete with the national brands. The study material and test is not of that standards as Fiitjee, and the faculties are OK type. Many students who wish to do good at Boards, opt for it.

Rank 4 : Aakash Lucknow –

Aakash is good, but not great. It has not been able to compete with the other institutes here. So, it’s better not to opt for it.

So, if you wish to get best ranks in JEE advanced, then go for FIITJEE, but if you only want to do good in JEE Main and other entrances, or if you are an average student, then you can opt for Resonance. I would not suggest you TriVaAg for now.

Though you can crack JEE by only doing self study and not joining any coaching, but having coaching will certainly give you an edge as the coaching faculties know how to prepare and they can guide you.

If you are OK with going anywhere in India for IIT preparation then see my blog on Best IIT Coaching In India.

It’s important that you do not go by the number of selections which the coaching centers show because most of the coaching centers publish the number from all their centers from all its centers from India, but what is important is the number of selected students from the center you want to study in. So beware of such fake news. And few coaching institutions also add their students who took only Distance learning program in their results, and others think that they actually secured so many ranks. And there are institutes who show percent selection in JEE Advanced out of students who qualified for it after JEE Main, but actually they should show the percentage out of students who studied there and gave JEE, and not only those who qualified for JEE Advanced. So try to do good research on all the coaching institutions before you join one, because this decision can change your life.

We have tried our level best to get the rankings right. Please share your opinion in the comments. If you liked this blog, please share it with your friends and share it on Facebook. Top 4 IIT JEE Coaching in Patna for Your JEE Main + Advanced preparation

Students from Bihar are known for their intelligence and hard work. Every year thousands of students from all over Eastern India come to Patna for JEE preparation, with the dream to crack JEE. Though IIT coaching institutions in Patna do not have high reputation like coaching institutions in Kota, Hyderabad or Delhi, but there are a few who prove their metal repeatedly. If someone can go far from their hometown for JEE preparation and is financially strong enough, then I would certainly recommend him to go to Kota or Hyderabad, but if he wishes to prepare at home, then Patna has few of the best IIT coaching institutions for them. You must have heard that many students from Bihar have cracked JEE by studying in Kota, but the trend is though slowly, but certainly changing. Students from various IIT Coaching institutes of Patna have performed very good in past years in JEE main and Advanced.

But the problem is every coaching claims to be the best, so which one to opt for ? I have put forward the Ranking of Best Coaching Institutions for IIT in Patna with detailed points :

Rank 1 : Vidyamandir Classes Patna

VMC is producing exceptionally good results in past few years. Faculties are highly qualified. Every topic is taught step by step i.e. they will first teach the basic level and in subsequent classes, they will increase the level and reach to the highest level i.e. JEE Advanced. So, they will prepare you for all the entrances and 12th Board Exams. The study material is great, and the topics are covered in detailed manner. The teachers always motivate you to study harder and keep you encouraged. Vidyamandir Classes is known for its individual care. You will get to ask your doubts personally after the class and there are separate doubt clearing sessions. Regular tests for JEE Advanced and main is held which keeps students in constant touch with all the topics. Here the teachers are not “Sir” but “Bhaiya”, which gives a personal touch and makes you feel comfortable to communicate with them. See genuine reviews of VMC Patna here.

Rank 2 : Fiitjee Patna

FIITJEE Patna provides most authentic and best results in case of Patna. But regarding classroom experience in FIITJEE, it’s pretty much fast and with very irregular frequency of classes. It is also good but sometimes it makes an aspirant toil too hard and hence, he loses motivation.  They assume that you know the basic concepts already and they directly start with high level theory and problem solving. They will not teach you for Board exam, which is a very big drawback. But if you are a good student then it is good for you. The material which you get and the methodology of teaching is very good. The teachers are good but you have to be a good and sincere student otherwise you end up saying he is a bad teacher. There is definite number of hours decided for each chapter and they complete them on time, so they cover the syllabus well within time(This lacks in many other coaching). The infrastructure is also good and the study material provided have the collection of best questions. If you joined in 10th then it is good but, if you join after it, you have to do a lot of hard working on your studies, because the syllabus is so vast that the teacher have to teach fast. But if you study daily then you will be able to cover it. If you are a very good student who can catch things fast, then opt FIITJEE for sure, but if you are average or below then go for VMC. But yes, FIITJEE all India test series AITS is of very high standards. 84 Students from Classroom / Integrated School Programs and 118 Students from All Programs of FIITJEE Patna Centre have been awarded a rank in JEE Advanced, 2014. See genuine reviews of FIITJEE Patna here.
See more reviews

Rank 3 : Mentors Patna

Mentors is an OK type of institute. You should only join it, if you are financially very weak and cannot join VMC or FIITJEE. Although it also has some of the good quality faculties but you may not be taught by them. There are as many as 90-150 students in each batch. So, its pretty crowded. It doesn’t conduct as many evaluations or tests as necessary. Many students have complained that they were always underneath a bouncer. The frequency of classes is very high, leaving less time for practice and self study and towards the end of the session they just try to wrap up the syllabus. It claims to have got as many as 476 selections in JEE Advanced 2016, but you should note that many of them are from Test Series or DLP etc, only a small percentage is from their regular classroom program. See genuine reviews of Mentors Patna here.
See more reviews

Rank 4 : K Singh Vision Classes Patna

Vision Classes was good but now most of the good faculties have left the institute, so its better that you do not it. See genuine reviews of Vision Classes Patna here.
See more reviews

So, if you are financially strong enough to pay the fees of VMC or FIITJEE and you have done your basics for JEE, then go for FIITJEE, but if you are totally new, then go for VMC. There are few other coaching as well in Patna and few individual subject tuition. If you feel that you are not able to cope up with some subject and really need help in a specific subject then only go for Individual Subject Coaching, because the most important thing in JEE preparation is self-study, and if you spend all your time in coaching then you will only be fooling yourself.

Though you can crack JEE by only doing self-study and not joining any coaching, but having coaching will certainly give you an edge as the coaching faculties know how to prepare and they can guide you.

And few coaching also add their students who took only Distance learning program in their results, and students think that they actually so many ranks. And there is institutes who show percent selection in JEE advanced out of students who qualified for it, but its a much higher percentage as they should show percent out of students who studied there and gave JEE and not only those who qualified for JEE advanced. So try to do good research on all the coaching before you join one, because this decision can change your life.

Top 12 Books for Your JEE Preparation – Best JEE Books for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

Confused about which books to read for your JEE preparation? Well, lakhs of students who start preparing for JEE feel the same kind of dilemma, including me, when I was preparing for JEE. Having cleared IIT JEE Advanced, I will share with you the books I and most of my friends who cracked JEE used and specify the details of them, and also the reasons as to why you should or should not follow some of the books.

Best books for JEE Physics

  • Concepts of Physics by H.C. Verma – It is the best book for physics JEE preparation. All the topics required for JEE is covered extensively. The chapters are very concise and there is no useless text. There are many solved and unsolved questions which every student must solve. There are different types of questions like short answers, multiple choice and subjective which help students to get ready for each of the types.  This book will test your concepts  and you will get to understand the logic in a very clear way. Though this book in itself is not sufficient as the number of questions are quite less for JEE standards, but this book is a must!.

  • Fundamentals of Physics by Halliday, Resnick & Walker – This book contains a lot of theory with sufficient number of real life examples, which will help you understand the topic in a very detailed manner. I would recommend it to you only if you do not understand any topic of H C Verma, because the chapters have much more explanation than is required for JEE Main and Advanced. The questions present at the end of the chapters are good and mostly inspired by some real life example, so it will be interesting to solve those questions.

  • IIT JEE Physics by DC Pandey This book is really good for practicing questions, but not the theory part. Though the initial edition of the book had many mistakes, it is improving year after year. So you should buy the new version of this book. There are plenty of problems which are both challenging and specific to the syllabus of competitive exams. There are many students who follow this book and have improved a lot. If you are in some good coaching then you need not do this book as you will get similar type of problems in your coaching sheets. But if you are not in any coaching, this book is best for you!

    .

  • Problems in General Physics by I.E. Irodov – This book has many tough and drilling problems, even way beyond IIT JEE level. So, I will never recommend this to anyone, at least not for JEE preparation. If you are very interested in Physics and love solving very challenging problems yourself, only then you can opt for this book. There are many teachers who will recommend this book to you, but they only do so to make it sound and look “difficult”. (:P)

In Physics, concept and practice both are very important. If you practice a lot without building on your concepts, then you reach nowhere. You will see a few students do very good even without practicing a lot in Physics, this is only because they know the concept very well and can apply them efficiently.

Best books for JEE Organic Chemistry

  • OP Tandon – This book is the best book for JEE’s Organic Chemistry. The theory and reactions are well mentioned and are simplified so that you can understand and learn them nicely. The chapters are well divided and structured. It includes multiple choice, matching-type, assertion reason-type and subjective questions for you to practice and are of JEE level.

  • NCERT – NCERT is good but not self sufficient. You need to study some other books if you are doing NCERT, as it does not contain all the required variations in problems and reactions which are required to understand and crack JEE.

In Organic Chemistry, the most important thing is practice. If you only know the concepts, it will not help you. So, which ever book you do, make sure you practice a lot. The questions will not take much time to solve like in Physical Chemistry or Physics etc, but you need to do at least 10x more questions of this subject than that of Physical Chemistry.

Best books for JEE Inorganic Chemistry

  • NCERT – For Inorganic Chemistry, this book is more than self sufficient. This is the Bible for Inorganic Chemistry. As there are concepts in every chapter, but in inorganic chemistry there are many concepts and exceptions, so you will lastly have to remember the concepts by heart, so that you do not forget or confuse during JEE Mains or Advanced. It is the truth, you will have to learn many things, so it’s important to read only the things that are in the JEE syllabus. Most of the other books for Inorganic have much more content than required, so if you follow those you will end up learning many useless things. Its good to learn by practice in Inorganic. I would like to strongly recommend you this book, you must study and solve this!

    .

Best books for JEE Physical Chemistry

  • Physical Chemistry by O.P. Tandon – Same as Organic Chemistry, O P Tandon for Physical is of the finest books. The author has covered all the topics in the best way so that you can understand and apply it to solve the problems. There are many types of problems at the end of each chapter which go level by level, helping to grasp each topic nicely. Physical Chemistry is also conceptual, so its important that you understand it nicely.

  • Coaching Classes Study Material – Though O.P. Tandon is good book. But you should also relate to the study materials(if possible) of renowned coachings like Fiitjee, Resonance, Allen or Vibrant etc. These materials are available online or in market.

Best books for JEE Mathematics

  • Maths By R.D. Sharma – This book is the best for JEE to make the basics clear for Mathematics. It contains theory for each chapter which is self explanatory and the there are many solved/unsolved problems which will build your foundation for entrance exams. I will not say that it is self sufficient for JEE Advanced though, because there aren’t as many tough problems as is  required for JEE Advanced preparation. So, for JEE Advanced at least, you have to consult other books or coaching institutions sheets.

  • Calculus By Amit Agarwal – For calculus this book is idle. It contains problems which will start from the basic level and go upto the highest level. There are many techniques described to quickly solve the problems which is most important for Jee. You can do it after you have done R.D. Sharma.

  • Algebra by S.K. Goyal – This book is very good for JEE preparation. There are sufficient tough questions to practice. So, again you need to do R.D. Sharma first and then this book.

So, these are the few books I would recommend you. There will be many people who will suggest you many books, but its important for you to first choose which will be best for you and then start it, because most of the students start one book and then shift to another in the middle, and then another. This lastly creates a chaos and the student becomes puzzled. So, choose wisely.

How can You choose between Offline Coaching VS Online Coaching for JEE Main and Advanced

With the latest technology coming into play, internet reach and speed has grown incredibly. Coaching for JEE (Main and Advanced) which has predominantly been in offline mode is now starting to get online. And as we all know nothing can beat technology, so is the offline coaching mode.

But has the Online mode of preparation for JEE already replaced the Offline Mode, that consists of Coaching Institutions for JEE like Allen, Bansal, Vibrant and FIITJEE? No, certainly not. But will it, some day? Yes, certainly.

In the recent years the internet reach in India has increased dramatically. Most of the Indian cities and many of the villages are now connected with 3G/4G network, which has paved the path for Online education, including JEE preparation. Few of the offline coaching institutes for JEE have started their online courses also, but most of them are yet to taste the online heat. On one side while Online institutes are trying to make their way into this coaching sector, the Offline institutes are willing to maintain their dominance.

So, Where do they stand against each other? And which mode is better for you?

In the following lines, I will discuss in details about each aspect.

Experience of Teachers : As offline coaching classes have been there for a long time, the faculties teaching there have many years of experience. Few coaching institutes like Allen, Fiitjee, Vibrant Academy have faculties with 10+ year experience.  So, they know exactly how to guide a student to crack the competitive exams. On the other hand, there are new online coaching like Byjus, Toppr, Embibe etc. in which the faculties are relatively less experienced.

Results in Entrance Exams : The offline coaching Institutes have performed exceptionally well from many years. Every year students from all over India come to Kota, Delhi, Hyderabad to crack JEE/PMT. But the online mode is new and is yet to be tested. We will get to know about it in next few years.

Teaching Methodology : In the offline coaching institutes specially in Kota, the strength of students in a class is somewhere around 100-200, so for students who do not get the front benches, get into problem. There are cases where students eyesight weakens and they have to put on specs. Students who are introvert face a real issue in this crowd as they are not able to communicate with the teachers and fail to clear their personal doubts. But in online coaching, there is no such issue as you do online coaching from home, so you are not in a huge crowd in classroom. You can easily ask your personal doubts and get it cleared. But the problem with online coaching is that the face to face interaction is limited for now (I believe it will overcome this problem in few years). In the offline institutes, the students who are outspoken, can easily interact with the teachers. In online mode, they make videos in which they make you visualize 3D objects easily, which helps you to understand the concepts in a better way, but the offline institutes have the restrictions of board and duster, because of which they have to draw 3D object in 2D boards. In offline institutions, the students are divided into batches, and you are forced to study in the batch you are assigned and the teachers in those batches. But in online mode, you can take the demo lectures first and then choose to opt that teacher.

Affordability : The offline institutes are way more expensive than the online mode. The coaching institutes in Kota, Delhi etc take more than 1 Lakh per year which is way more than what online institutes charges. And the fees is increasing 5-20k every year. Moreover when you go for offline institutes which are in cities other than your home city, you will have to live in PG or Hostels and eat Mess food, which also cost a big amount. So, by this perspective, online coaching is way better than offline.

Convenience : If you take an offline coaching institute outside your place then you will have to stay there, far away from your home. The mess food is generally not good and can affect your health. Moreover you will have to travel from your Hostel to the coaching everyday, which wastes a lot of your time and energy.  Whereas in online mode, you can do your coaching sitting in your home. So there will be no time loss. There will be times when you get depressed and need some personal care, if you are in another city that is away from your hometown, your parents will not be able to help you out, but in your own city, you will be taken good care of by your parents. But too much convenience may be harmful as you will be competing with lakhs of student  in JEE Main and if you are not serious, you are destined to fail.

Resources : Though most of the popular offline coaching institutes give their study material, you will have to take down notes in the class to exactly match what they want to say, because you will not be able to read the same topic again by that teacher. But in online coaching, you have the flexibility of recording the videos and see them exactly when ever you want. But there are few offline institutes who have started to make their teaching videos, to give their students. In online mode, there are online notes and questions available for you to go through and practice.

One-to-One Interaction : For students who are good and who are not introvert, offline mode for JEE is the best as they can personally interact with the teacher and get their doubts cleared. Moreover the discussion with other good students clears most of the topics much better. Whereas in online mode there is a restriction in the level of interaction. But for introvert students it is the best as they can freely ask their doubts without thinking of what other students will think as only the teacher can hear you.

Environment : In offline mode, you get to physically interact with the brilliant minds and discuss with them every topic, which helps in clearing every doubt. You get to know each other’s methodology, learn and grow. But in online mode this is a huge restriction, as you do not get to interact with other students.

So, there are pros and cons of each mode. But it is clear that the offline coaching institutes for JEE that have been there for long, are at their best right now, but the online institutes will grow as time passes. For now, I would recommend that if you can afford the offline institutes, then go for it, because the online modes have not showed brilliant results yet. But if you cannot afford it, then online mode is good for you. In the next few years we will see the change in trend. So choose wisely, as this decision can change you life.

Secrets of Student Life In Kota – What can You expect from the IIT Coaching Capital of India

Welcome to “The Coaching Capital of India”. With the dream of cracking JEE/PMT with good rank, students from all over India flock to Kota every year. Some achieve their goals and some do not.

Having done my JEE preparation in Kota for 2 years, I will describe each and every phase of my life in kota.

Arrival at Kota Station –  As the station came nearer, I started thinking about what could happen next. When the time came, I saw the glowing station, welcoming me to its city. It was 2 am and there were thousands of students coming out of trains. I never saw so many students in one place before.

Then I took an auto to the main city.

First Visit to Vibrant Academy – On my way to Vibrant Academy, I saw big buildings of coaching institutions like Allen, Bansal, Resonance, Career Point etc. Coming from a school with lack of infrastructure, the level of infra of these institutes surprised me and filled me with excitement.

Search for Hostel/PG and Mess – With every house in Vigyan nagar, Talwandi, Mahaveer nagar, Rajeev gandhi nagar etc saying “TO-LET”, I tried to choose the best PG I could. The rent ranged from Rs2000-Rs10000 per month. A typical PG looks like this

And the mess price ranges from Rs 2000 – Rs 5000 per month. This is what typical mess looks like-

In my initial days I loved the food, but after few weeks I started hating it and got to know the importance of home food.

Daily Life – Then starts my daily routine. I started my day at 5 am with light breakfast -Poha, Jalebi, Kachaudi, Samausa, Pakodi and Tea. There used to be stalls set at Talwandi Circle at 5 am. These are few pics of Stalls –

I used to complete my daily homeworks. Then I used to bath and go to Vibrant Academy by cycle. It used to be huge rush as the streets were mobbed by thousands of students. But yes it was an excitement too as it was a new day and I would get to learn new things and get to meet my batch mates.

We had classes of PCM from 9am -12:30pm with 15min break between every class. The most unique thing which I saw in Kota was that the teaching methodology here is totally different from traditional schools. Teachers are highly energetic and motivate you to study. But yes there were a few who did not encourage a student even if he/was is asking a genuine doubt. Nevertheless, I got to compete with the best minds and the most important thing, my working capacity increased by a huge amount. Few topics used to be interesting but most were hectic, but the teachers tried to teach in the best way they could. I got used to batches of 100-200 students, everyone trying to understand and excel. This is pic of a typical classroom in Kota

Then I used to come to my PG were the mess tiffin used to be kept at the door. Being tired and hungry, I used to finish all the food(though I never liked it). On most days, the food was Roti, Dal, Rice, Curd and some vegetable dish. The mess used to give 3 special meals a week where we used to get noodles, papad, tandoori roti, aloo paratha, dal, paneer, sweets, salad etc. So, I used to actually eat only 3 times a week. This pic is of one of my meal

Then I used to take a special type of sleep, which I came to know in Kota itself, called the “Power Nap” that though lasted for 15 mins only, but surprisingly it used to refresh me.

Then I used to start my self study. Firstly I went through my day-notes which my teachers had taught and then started with the homework(DPPs, Sheets, exercises at the back of the books etc). I used to get 50-100 ques every day of each subject.

I did it till 5pm. Then I used to take a little break. I talked to my friends in my PG about some interesting topics of some teachers or Toppers. Mostly it used to be around some incident that happened in the class or some joke which my teacher cracked today or how tough the ongoing topic is. There used to be times when I or my friend used to be depressed, so we would support each other. Then we used to go to tea stall and have some snacks and tea. It used to be mostly patties and tea. After that I again did my homework from 6pm to 9pm. Then I had my dinner. Dinner used to be same as the lunch. Then after at about 11pm, I used to go to sleep.

Sundays – Until now I was talking about the daily routine. But Sundays were special. I used to take little breaks on Sundays. I used to go to cyber cafe to see a movie. Cafes are cheap Rs 10/hr and they used to have most of the movies. They used to be filled with students, mostly watching movies or playing games.

We also went to some places like Chambal garden, Mall etc to refresh ourselves.

Test Day – One Sunday every month, we had tests. That used to be most threatening day of the whole month. The tests were one of the most efficient way to judge our level. The students who were able to cope up with the syllabus, scored high marks and those who did not, waited for the test to finish. The tests were of JEE pattern, mostly of higher level and of same format. It used to be OMR based test.

After the tests we were given the answer sheets which we matched there itself. There used to be many pamphlet distributors outside the coachings and you can see the street full of pamphlets. Mostly the pamphlets advertised some coaching.

Then to relax, I used to go to the cyber cafe. The next day the teachers discussed the paper and we got to know where we went wrong. Within a week the results used to come and the reports were sent to my parents. That day used to be either worst or the best day, but certainly not a normal day. Then taking the pledge of improving the next time, I again started my daily routine.

There are good and bad experiences of Kota. But one thing I can tell for sure, If you have survived in Kota, you can work at any condition at your best. This place makes you tough. With your parents not being around and the pressure of huge amount of money they gave for you, makes you more responsible and hard worker.

There are other cities as well for IIT/PMT coaching but Kota IIT/PMT Coaching has proved itself repeatedly. Kota Institutes are one of the best  IIT Jee coaching in India. See my blog on Best IIT Coaching In India .

What are the top 3 IIT JEE Coaching Classes In Pune?

Best IIT Coaching Institutes in Pune

Students from various institutes of Pune have performed very good in past years in Jee main and advanced. Few of them have got good ranks in Top 100 as well. Every year thousands of students from all over India and specifically Maharashtra come to Pune for Jee preparation, with the dream to crack Jee. Though coaching centers in Pune do not have high reputations like coaching in Kota, Hyderabad or Delhi, but in recent years, many good coachings have come up in Pune and have shown fantastic results. If someone can go far from their home town for Jee preparation, then I would certainly recommend him to go to Kota or Hyderabad, but if he wishes to prepare at home, then Pune has few of the best coaching for them. Every coaching claims to be the best, but I have put forward the Ranking of Best Coaching Classes for IIT in Pune with detailed points :

Rank 1 : Bakliwal Tutorials IIT Pune –

Bakliwal Tutorials has been constantly producing the best results in Pune for many years. 300+ students qualified for Jee advanced and 70+ students got ranks below 10000 in Jee advanced, which is far more than their competitors. It has produced city topper 4+ times in Jee advanced and also state topper. See what the toppers have to say. Faculty at Bakliwal are great and are open to suggestions and improvements. The management at Bakliwal is amazing, if classes are cancelled or postponed they send out sms, etc. The fees is a little high, around 1 Lakh per year. You have doubt sessions in between the classes, and you can always wait after class to ask questions to your teachers. Students can study after classes if they want. Tests are conducted in each month, which helps students to know their position and strength. It has excellent Chemistry teachers. There are many good students, so students get a healthy competition and good atmosphere to grow. Classrooms are well furnished and spacious and are mostly they are AC classrooms. See genuine reviews of Bakliwal Tutorials Pune here.

See more reviews

Rank 2 : M Prakash Academy Pune –

M Prakash Academy is known for its Mathematics. 50+ students out of 113 students got ranks below 10000 in Jee advanced. So, 40% students cracked Jee and 90% students qualified for Jee advanced, which is one of the highest percentage. The best ranks they got were 84, 132, 146 etc. See what the M Prakash Sir have to say. The unique thing of M Prakash Academy is, they only take admission in Class 8, 9 and 11. So, there is no repeater batch and all the cracked students are from fresher batch. The fees here is less than Rs 50000 per year, which is very less than its competitors. Teachers at M. Prakash are definitely better, but they go much deeper into the topics than required to crack JEE, which creates problem for students to cover all the things taught in class. The teachers teach maths more as a research subject not concentrating on the ways to crack the problems fast and efficiently during the exams. It focuses for cracking math Olympiads. M Prakash academy does not conduct lectures after January till Jee advanced, but yes students can ask doubts. So they get good amount of time for self study. See genuine reviews of M Prakash Academy Pune here.

Rank 3 : IITian’s Prashikshan Kendra Pune –

IITian’s Prashikshan Kendra have a very promising result since few year. 200+ students qualified for Jee advanced and 40+ students got ranks below 10000 in Jee advanced. They provide proper batches as per the talent so that students can discuss and become better. Prashikshan is well know for its punctuality and regular classes. They provide with proper revision lectures which helps students to recollect all they have been taught. Chemistry is really well taught by the respective teachers and Mathematics and Physics is average. See genuine reviews of IITian’s Prashikshan Kendra Pune here.

So, if you are financially strong enough to pay the fees of 1 Lakh per year, then go for Bakliwal Tutorials, but if you do not have that much to spend, then you should opt M Prakash Academy.  The intake of Bakliwal Tutorials andIITian’s Prashikshan Kendra is much higher than M Prakash, so M Prakash has a very good success rate. There are few other coaching as well in Pune and few individual subject tuition. If you feel that you are not able to cope up with some subject and really need help in a specific subject then only go for Individual Subject Coaching, because the most important thing in Jee preparation is self study, and if you spend all your time in coaching then you will only be fooling yourself.

Though you can crack Jee by only doing self study and not joining any coaching, but having coaching will certainly give you an edge as the coaching faculties know how to prepare and they can guide you.

If you are ok with going anywhere in India for IIT preparation then see my blog on Best IIT Coaching In India.

Its important that you do not go by the number of selections which the coaching centers show because most of the coaching centers publish the number from all their centers from all its centers from India, but what is important is the number of selected students from the center you want to study in. So beware of such fake news. And few coaching also add their students who took only Distance learning program in their results, and students think that they actually so many ranks. And there are institutes who show percent selection in Jee advanced out of students who qualified for it, but its a much higher percentage as they should show percent out of students who studied there and gave Jee and not only those who qualified for Jee advanced. So try to do good research on all the coaching before you join one, because this decision can change your life.

We have tried our level best to get the rankings right. Please share your opinion in the comments. If you liked this blog, please share it with your friends and share it on Facebook. Top 5 IIT JEE Coaching Institutes in Kolkata for you

Best IIT Coaching Institutes in Kolkata

Students from various institutes of Kolkata have performed very good in past years in Jee main and advanced. Every year thousands of students from all over eastern India come to Kolkata for Jee preparation, with the dream to crack Jee. Though coaching centers in Kolkata do not have high reputations like coaching in Kota, Hyderabad or Delhi, but there are a few who prove their metal repeatedly. If someone can go far from their home town for Jee preparation, then I would certainly recommend him to go to Kota or Hyderabad, but if he wishes to prepare at home, then Kolkata has few of the best coaching for them. Every coaching claims to be the best, but I have put forward the Ranking of Best Coaching for IIT in Kolkata with detailed points :

Rank 1 : Fiitjee Kolkata –

Fiitjee has been constantly producing the best results in Kolkata for many years. See what the toppers have to say.  Fiitjee North Kolkata center produces the toppers. Fiitjee is rank 1 only if you are very good student. The faculties are good and can guide you for getting best ranks in Jee. It is more of business for them rather than its productivity as it only focuses on the 4-5 very good students and leave the rest on their own. Their main aim is to get very good ranks from a few rather than good ranks for all. The Chemistry department faculty is good, but Maths and Physics department faculty are mediocre. The cream students will get individual care, attention etc, but the others will just have to do it by self study. But yes, Fiitjee all India test series AITS is of very high standards. So, if you are one of the good students then Fiitjee has the best faculty for you, but if you are not that good, go for some other. See genuine reviews of Fiitjee Kolkata here.

Rank 2 : IITopper Kolkata –

IITopper has one of the best Physics teacher in Kolkata – Anirban Sir. He would teach the basics and then emphasize on quick problem solving, mock-tests and real time examples. The teachers here are friendly and easily approachable and they provide individual care as well. But Chemistry is not structured properly in terms of distribution of time and focus on topics and optimization. Math classes are conceptual but for quick and fast implementation in JEE you might have to work on few other things by yourself. Overall, if you want individual care then it is a decent coaching center to join for JEE, WBJEE and other engineering exam aspirants. See genuine reviews of IITopper Kolkata here.

See more reviews

Rank 3 : Resonance Kolkata –

Resonance is one of the emerging coaching s in Kolkata. They provide excellent study materials and daily assignments called as DPP(same as in Kota). They plan a good curriculum to crack jee main and advanced. Chemistry classes are really good but physics is not up to mark and maths is average. Daily assignments(Dpp) are provided, which helps keep student be focused, regular and in touch with the subject matter all the time. The study materials are really good and in comparison with other institutes, it is one of the best. Its test series is one of the best in India and helps in cracking Jee. See genuine reviews of Resonance Kolkata here.

See more reviews

Rank 4 : Pathfinder Kolkata –

Pathfinder is considered the best if you aim for WBJEE and other entrance exams along with the board exams. The faculty are  good and interactive. They are very friendly and easily approachable, whenever there is any doubt regarding any subject. Doubt clearing classes are held too. The study materials are brief and effective, which helped to grasp any particular topic in less time. The test series helps in time management and gears you up for the entrance exams. Its very common among local students who have more priority for board exams. There is much focus on getting good rank rather than getting best ranks. The teaching standard is more of Board level. So, if you wish to do good in Board+Wbjee, then Pathfinder is best for you.  See genuine reviews of Pathfinder Kolkata here.

See more reviews

Rank 5 : Aakash Institute Kolkata –

Aakash is mostly known for medical entrances than Jee preparation, so their focus is always on doing good in NEET/AIIMS. But yes the faculties are good. Everyday after class each student get extensive one to one doubt clearing session with the teachers, where you can ask any number of doubts. The course material provided is very systematically arranged and is in accordance with the competitive exams. But the negative point was that the Test series was not of Jee standards. As tests are an integral part of Jee preparation, its better to take other test series also if you join aakash. See genuine reviews of Aakash Kolkata here.

So, if you are a very intelligent student, or someone who have done pre foundation course for Jee in their Class 9 or 10 and you wish to get best ranks in Jee, then certainly go for Fiitjee, but keeping in mind that you have to maintain you top position in the batch. But if you are not that intelligent and wish to have personal care and one to one interaction and wish to crack Jee, then go for IITopper, Resonance. And if you wish to do good in Boards and if WBJEE or other entrance exams are you main focus, then go for Pathfinder. There are few other coaching as well in Kolkata and few individual subject tuition.

How I got 90%+ in 15 days in CBSE 12th Board

CBSE exam

I took Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English in 12th CBSE Board, and secured 94, 94, 95, 94 resp by preparing for 15 days only. It was all due to my commitment and specific guidance from my seniors, that I was able to perform exceptionally well.

I did coaching for 2 years for Jee in my Class 11 and 12th and did not prepare for CBSE board exams much. It was February and only 15 days were left for board exams. Rather than becoming nervous I asked some of the senior toppers and they guided me very specifically of what to do and how to do it.

I got the syllabus of all the subjects and marked the chapters required to study in NCERT. Then I asked my teachers and seniors about how much marks question comes from each chapter(to focus on the chapters which fetches me more marks and do only important points which fetches me less marks). As I had to do good in all the subjects, I took 3-4 chapters at a time of each subject and completed that. I was good at Physics, so I started with that. Every day I did two chapters from any one of the PCM and two chapters of English. I started with one chapter of Physics, after completing it, I did one chapter of English(because English is easy and story type, so you will not be bored), then I again did one chapter of Physics and then again one English chapter. Like this it continued till all the subjects completed. Every 3 days, I did a quick revision of the chapters studied, so that I do not forget any of those. Now, I will state, what and how I studied chapters of each subject :

Physics – I read the chapters quickly and simultaneously understood them. As I did coaching, it was easy to cover it fast. For every chapter I went through all its Question and Ans(Q/A) and answered them in my mind. But I practiced some of them on pen and paper, specially the descriptive type of questions like derivations, procedures and diagrams (I noted them down in separate sheet and kept them and before the exam I revised only those sheets). As the descriptive questions carried maximum marks, I was able to solve them nicely. I also went through past 5 years questions, and solved those which was not covered in the Q/A part.

Chemistry – For Chemistry, my senior advised to do the Q/A at the end of each chapter nicely, and as I am weak in learning things, so, I did only the Q/A. 90-95% of questions come from the Q/A part. I read through the chapter once and jumped to the Q/A part. I understood and learned all the answers, then to increase the marks I went through the past 5 years questions and learned what ever was not present in the Q/A(only few things were left). If I would have tried to learn the whole chapter, it would have taken a long time and I did not have it.

Maths – Though I was not that good at maths as I was in other two subjects while I was preparing for Jee, but when I saw CBSE maths, it was far more easier. I did not read any of the theory part. I saw the solved examples and practiced how problems have to be solved step by step (generally students due to coaching, forget how to write step by step, but for board exams it is must). I did most of the problems at the end of the chapters verbally and solved the advanced problems on pen and paper.  Mostly the advanced problems fetch more marks, so I concentrated on it a lot and also the practice examples. I just glanced through the past years question papers but did not solve it.

English –  English is very easy but in the exam, you will have to write big answers a lot of questions, which makes it tough. The literature part is easy. I read English stories whenever I got board with the PCM chapters, mostly 2 chapters a day. I underlined the important points and read only those on the day before the exam. The most important is the language part. I did not prepare for passage, as it will always be a new one. For the report, article etc, I had to choose one. Before hand only, I asked my English teacher, which one to do among those and she advised me to write report, and she wrote the template for the report. So I learnt the template and wrote it as it is during the exam, which saved a lot of time. I saw the past years question papers and saw the pattern. There were few questions in the language part, in which I had few options and I had to write one. So, before hand only, I choose which one I would do and only practiced the templates of those things. In English exam, I did not think so much because there was no time for that, I just wrote what ever was relevant to the question and I wrote same number of lines for same marks question. I also underlined some of the important lines in each question, when I finished my paper. I think the key to my success in English was devoting fixed time to each question and writing equal lines for same marks question.

In the day before every exam, I saw the question pattern and fixed time for each of the questions and strictly followed it during the exam. Do not ever forget to take wrist watch with you, its one of the most important thing. I remember the night before my chemistry exam, one of my friend called me and asked few questions, and all of them from the Q/A part, but I did not remember any of those. It was 9pm and I did not have much time left. But I did not panic, and quickly revised all the chapters and was able to remember all the questions. So, its important to revise on the last day, no matter how much you know and have worked in past and the most important thing is to not panic, as it will not help you.

I will like to suggest that, do not try to do many books, because it will take a lot of time and may harm you. One of my friends read 2-3 books for each subject and lastly at the night before exam, he forgot most of the important things and remembered the less important things and lastly he performed badly. Though he was very intelligent, he got only 80%.

It was the clear guidance given by my topper seniors which helped me to secure good marks, but generally students do not have such seniors in their personal contact. So, we created a website Ransphire where you can directly talk to toppers, to help students get personal guidance from toppers. Many students who have scored good marks are present in this platform and you can directly talk to them by using its Talk To Topper feature. Students after board, go for Jee/PMT coaching, but are confused which coaching they should go. In ransphire , we have genuine reviews of popular coachings of IIT Jee, PMT and other engineering and medical entrance exams.
